Laurie Greenhut

Optometric Assistant

Laurie assists Dr. Kaplan in a variety of patient care and administrative operations and is primarily responsible for managing the eyewear selection available at our office.  Laurie’s seven years in jewelry sales and as a personal stylist at Nordstrom make her ideally suited for helping patients select frames that reflect their unique personal style and taste. Previously, Laurie spent many years as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization that served adults and children with developmental disabilities. She has a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from San Francisco State University. This background supports Dr. Kaplan in his treatment of children with vision-related learning issues. Laurie enjoys helping everyone who comes to our office; please feel free to ask her any questions you may have about your care at Mill Valley Optometry.

Marissa Hobson

Office Administrator

Marissa provides a professional and welcoming presence at our front desk, offering excellent assistance for our patients and their families. She plays a key role in identifying patient insurance coverages, handles contact lens and glasses orders, all while maintaining a smooth flow of our business operations. Marissa grew up in Concord and, after graduating from Clayton Valley High, she attended Chico State University majoring in communications. She began her career in office administration as the Front Desk Coordinator at 24 Hr. Fitness’ corporate office. She then spent over two years as a Staff Recruiter while providing administrative support for the Hiring Manager of MGA Corporate Health Care. Marissa enjoys vacationing with her family and is an authentic Warriors and Giants fan, making her especially well-suited for our office of avid Bay Area sports fans! To the Patients of Mill Valley Optometry

Due to “shelter in place” and in accordance to the California Optometric Association, our office will be closed at least through April 7th. We expect this situation may extend through April. However, we will be able to receive calls and make future vision appointments.
